First timer hostel experience

This is written based on my friend and I real experiences and may not effect others.

If I can make it short and emphasize, I would choose to say - the great lesson ever.

Why?
i) the bed given to us actually occupied by another person. After lost somewhere up to Geylang, we're back to hostel late; if I can - 11pm onwards. Everyone in the room either prepare for bed, or already on bed. My downstairs bed quite hot temperature and say something that neither me nor my friend understand. I whispered to my friend that I don't have my pillow which I think been there before we left the hostel. So we decided to ask the receptionist. Suddenly, a man came and somewhat starring on us. Not really sure what happened, they talk to each other and brought out the receptionist just to told me the bed is occupied by the man. Opppss, something wrong here. Yes, the situation really messy after that and finally we manage to get bed. My friend and I agreed to share the bed - we're tired and lost energy for fight any longer.

ii) Mad Chinese women (I'm not racism) shout at us on almost 2am. Yes, we are guilty because slept on her occupied bed but that was on the hostel owner advised. He assured that the bed is not occupied!!!!! At this moment, I have to admit ; I lost my sense of emotion control. I'd ask the receptionist to handle our case because I'm in half-awake and my brain didn't work at its good condition. I'm too weak to fight over her. Next morning, I told my friend - " I'm an educated person, I try my best not to get mad because if I do so, there no differences between us".

Lesson?
 i)  I purposely chose this hostel because offer the female dorm, which I think more preferable than mixed dorm with the cheapest price. Our first room is mixed dorm - which clearly stated on their rules and regulation - no opposite sex is allowed in that room. Somewhere I read that to backpacker @ hostel, I need to consider being moved to another bed - if the bed occupied ( I can't get this out from my brain until now, which really happens to me). So, backpackers get ready for this ; if not please make up your budget.

ii) never ignored the review percentage. That tools really help you a lot.

iii) if you travelling in small group, 1/2 traveller (s), maybe you can consider couchsurf. At least, they not shout at you at 2am.

iv) do some research regarding independent traveller(s). You might be end up with some useful info like couchsurf does.

v) if possible, book from hostel/hotel/guesthouse website. I'm not say that the travelling website is bad, but better do that as a part of precaution.

The incredible Singapore Part 2 - (7-10 a.m)

7 - 10 a.m

After all night sleeping with small legs room, finally we reach Singapore. It was nearly 7am and the handsome immigration officer greet us with smile and ask for our trip. He advised us, it nice to come US as early as possible because of the hot weather. Hehe...great!!!

Our next destination is our hostel which located at Chinatown. Not really know (well, not even searching how to go to our hostel in detailed) that we have to ride the bus to catch up the MRT. Good enough, at Marsailing station we met up with person in-charge that really helpful and gave us the reliable info. Hehehe...maybe because both of us wearing tudung and she make assumption that we're not Sabahan. Luckily, my crime partner speaking KL slang, so that look not so weird...If it's happen both of us spoke in Sabah slang, we seem likely came over others countries (neither me nor my crime partner spoke Brunei language, so can't claimed that we're from Brunei Darussalam.

Chinatown, in my opinion is not that big and I can say not so clean. Why? maybe because of the construction work beside the station or just the atmosphere. I don't really know. And the atmosphere just like Melaka and Ipoh while you can found most elderly 'lepaking' at the coffee shop. (Ok, then why I didn't took any photos here - not even thinking of that ). And our backpackers actually just around the corner but quite tricky since it seem likely hidden between the building. And we start look like 'tourist' here, took out maps - asking people - meander around a.k.a lost tourist - searching name - all the tourist things...LOL!!! Credit to two uncles who have shown us the place and even spoke Malay to us.

Erm, the hostel is small, not really pleasant atmosphere and the receptionist - if I can say - just woke up when we rang a bell. I sent email before ask if we can check-in early - and they replied - yes you can. But the things is, we not allowed to check-in because there are no bed. What!!! - but we still can left our luggage and use of the facilities there. So, I took  instant bath and my crime partners wasn't. She want to have her sweet time to bath and it's not gonna happen in 10mins as I do. With all the unsatisfied feeling inside, I have to take it as experiences - which I can say that was a morningmare at all cost. Well, you got what you pay - OK then it's applied here...Grrrrrr....

Whooo..seem likely this is will be a long - STOP here!!!

The incredible Singapore experiences...

As stated in previous entry, I'm gonna post about our journey to Spore...well, the journey is really really incredible, night morningmare, heartache, sweet and sour..The last minutes arrangement really heartbreaking, together with the tight budget and uncertain things that none of us have idea. We chose to travel by train ( all buses to Spore is fully occupied) and since we're too late to have sleeping coach on chosen date, we have to satisfied with the economy seats (RM34)..oh yea the travel theme was tight budget which supporting the idea of backpackers, hostel, public transport as possible and walk by foot (it's done because of lost, not tight budget..kekekeke)

The original plan is to have overnight to Singapore on train..sound silly and impossible..well, Singapore is just over the straits and can be reach by few minutes kan...but since that my crime travel partner would like to go to  (forgot the name la - The Lion statue) The Merlion Park, so I think we need to find the accommodation. That was because based on our experiences, we wouldn't merry-around the Universal Studio for 1 day and we need to go to the statute on the next day...So, searching began and connecting me to Hostel.com ; well, lucky me to find the cheapest hostel on list..After satisfied with the price and chose the dorm wisely (knun2 la) pay the deposit and there you goes...tada!!!! One of the problem solves. The train ticket also bought online..No hussle la knun...

After all the businesses (hehehe) done, so I hibernate at friend's house and doing all the planning, buying, surfing, searching etc. And also coincidentally, I found out that with the Airasia boarding pass we're eligible the discount at Universal Studio admission fee for 6 peoples. Fool enough, I leave my boarding pass at flight..Huahuahua...We're looking hardly for my friend's boarding pass because she just landed from Sabah Kota Kinabalu fresh from the oven. Unfortunately, she couldn't locate her boarding pass and we're bought the tickets without discount. The tickets price was SGD72..(peak price)..

So now..terrible began!!!!

Our train supposed to on 11pm..We're took our sweet time and reach just a few minutes to 11pm. Maybe this is our first time on train, we have the messy walk located the gate..but the train gonna be late 15 minutes from the schedules. Well, an excited 7 hours journey on train for both of us...hehehhee...

Being afraid the post gonna be long, to be cont'd...

Hectic 2012

I just realize that 2012 are hectic year. It not begin on 2012, but has been continuously from this year. Should I highlight the journey from Brunei? Should I or shouldn't I?

i) Brunei Darussalam...(15 - 17 Sept 2011)
As known by Malaysian, entering the Sabah & Sarawak need you to have limited passport for stay more then 90 days. Once you enter the state, your inbound come with immigration form which need to you to retain until you are outbound check-in. Hesitate?..Sensitive issues nowadays for those who not really understanding the history of Malaysia. The same rules apply to Sabahan who enter Sarawak, and its became worst for those travelling Sabah - Sarawak - Brunei most every week. We need approximately 3 pages of passport to chop at all station.
What so good here?......^^ we bought the durians at Sipitang, Sabah and ate them at Limbang, Sarawak under palm oil tree. Hahahaha..we're like family here...every one is committed until the last resort...At least to keep our stamina came back after tiring stair at the park..(For the record, I throw up after a few step..hohohoho..^__- )

Limbang, Sarawak..Can't recall the name of taman..tiring stair upfront..tired face after out of breath and throw up..ngeh3...^^

Behind us is Crystal Fountain...its really a crystal...

We don't know what is this actually. Seem likely a tongkang. Beside the Mosque ( didn't bother to remember the Mosque name)..At the centre of Bandar Seri Begawan

The Gold Khubah..its really a gold...........

Mosque rear..others tourist just took a photo from outside the mosque. Hence we're bravely ask the Indon worker..either we can come in. He ensure us that we're allowed to come in and..hullaala...after a few snap, rain pour and we are sent home by the weird and strange eyes of people inside the mosque..erm, they're no tourist others than us...

The tongkang

The aisle to the tongkang

The tongkang close up
